funny because SD was hiding bad medical reports on some of the players they traded. Too bad for the young man, but I'm glad it happened to SD.

David Phelps will have season-ending Tommy John surgery on Monday to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He was injured on the final pitch of his most recent outing on March 17 against the Los Angeles Angels.

While Travis d'Arnaud is undecided about Tommy John surgery, Plawecki has a broken hand. If Plawecki could be out an extended period of time, pressuring the Mutts and d'Arnaud to make a decision. the filthy NY article says that it is possible d'Arnaud could decide he's able to play through the pain. AKA double play Jose Lobaton, not homer happy Jose, makes his reemergence into the league. If you are d'Arnaud you want that best medical advice, and you want it ASAP.
