ok, this is the only nascar thread i could find. obviously we're not gearheads.

i don't understand this sport, or how one can watch it, but i'm pretty amazed the same guy has won five years running. is he that good, or does he have the best car? or is that the same thing? i really have no clue. my one acquaintance is apparently very pissed about this development, and thinks they should find some way to disqualify him because 'he's killing the sport!!!!111'

chad knaus, his crew chief, is a cheater. i think he even said once after getting caught that he will continue to do so but try harder not to get caught.

He's part of a Hendrick team that had Jeff Gordon dominating the late 90s and early 2000s. Everyone's car has the same size and power, but these guys have millions to spend on extra testing and development while other teams struggle to qualify for half a season. You also have to give credit to Johnson being consistently good. Anyone can drive in a circle, but if it was as simple as that, why hasn't Dale Jr. won anything in 6 years?

I watched a little bit of the Daytona. It seems to be all the rage down here in Florida. I can't get into it. It's the same thing over and over again. They have a lot of well-placed cameras that are pretty cool though.

Unbelievable story, and you may not even hear from him again during this Sprint Cup season since he's racing full-time in the AAA Nationwide series instead. This is like Singleton playing in 2 games and winning World Series MVP. Meanwhile Mark Martin and Tony Stewart have to wait another year for their shot....
