yeah sorry Buck, I am surprised that statement caught you as odd. Ruiz was a folk hero, an excellent defensive catcher with a godo dash of clutchy, but he was never a great hitter. The big thing with him is that if the pitcher wanted to walk the 8 hole hitter, Ruiz would let him.
