the JVR situation is like deja vu. can't think of the philly player or team, but i swear i remember some team reacquiring a player they gave up on too soon, who went on to blossom and have success elsewhere, only to be reacquired and not live up to expectations again.

I was just thinking about him earlier today. I haven't heard any news about his recovery at all, and all I remember from his updates during the regular season was that he was skating with the team but not participating in practices.

Even on broadcasts/TV reports about the Flyers, he's not brought up when they talk about their young players or future impact players. I think Lindblom, who was undergoing cancer treatments, is expected back sooner than Patrick.
