Harper also seemed to value the full contract money and wanted to truly stay in one place. He got all that here and got the highest number in history. If he really wanted a contract like Machado's he'd have gotten one.

Klentak could be busy in the next month. The injuries to Herrera and Quinn complicate things but he's got Herrera, Quinn, Altherr, Nick Williams and to be candid I think Cozens could make some sense as Matt Stairs off the bench type.

I figure if we trade anything its for prospects to replenish a little. Not likely to get a ML starter that's better than what we have back in trade.

I hope they get Nicky boy some CF reps

I'm skeptical we'll get a significant return for any of these guys, although most should be easy to move for a low level arm.

If that shareholder stuff is true, I am not sure they could have went as long term as needed.

The CEO stopped our board meeting to announce we signed Harper. Felt good.

The shareholder stuff is absolutely true. It's just a matter of how much they could differ from that plan or move money.

Thinking out loud about a couple of options once Odubel's healthy:

*No post-Harper moves in the OF and sign someone like Keuchel or Gio for the rotation
*Trade Wiliams in a package for a SP
*Trade Odubel for a SP (likely the best return due to his talent level and contract) and try to get by with some combo of Williams, Quinn, and/or Haseley in CF

There are definitely other shoes about to drop.
