Not to jump to conclusions, but nobody ever, it seems, is found not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect anymore for these kinds of crimes. Looking at that screen shot it’s hard to imagine this guy isn’t suffering from serious mental illness.

i don't care if it's prison or some medically induced state on a secure floor at the state hospital, i really don't want him integrated back into our society until he's at least close to 70.

Not guilty by reason of insanity was always pretty rare, I think. Generally if you are found insane you're in the loony bin much longer than you'd ever be in prison. Lawyer would also have to prove that their client didn't know the difference between right and wrong which is rather difficult
