Neither do the officials, so don't worry. I think the excuse, err, explanation we'd get is that it would have been no goal if it went in off of Tierney's skate but it was kicked in, darn it, I mean, redirected off Tkachuk's skate afterward so it is a good goal.

Regarding Patrick's "upper body" injury, for anyone who didn't watch, he took the blade of a stick flush against his cheek while fore-checking early in the game, then took a hit in the corner shortly thereafter. You can peep some video here:

Overall, good win coming off the SJ debacle. I know four GA but I thought Pickard was pretty good. PK needs some, uh, work.

When Patrick was out last year, he was officially day-to-day for pretty much the whole time. This time, there is an actual and fairly specific timetable.


This is very good news. Could just mean a jaw problem or something with his face or maybe slight whiplash.
