It's also nice that we haven't played 3 more games than everybody which seemingly happens every year around this time

Several takeaways from last night's game after seeing them play live instead of on the tube which gives you a different perspective.
-Couturier is a monster. He is so big, strong and long; takes up so much of the ice. He's no longer the skinny kid that he was. He has become a dominant player in this league.
-Patrick is making strides in his development. He may not be a McDavid, Eichel or Matthews but he is going to be a very good top one center. He's learning how to use his size and his playmaking ability is off the charts. He sees opportunities that other don't. He needs to shoot more.
-BTW, the same thing goes for Hagg. He defers to his teammates a bit too much on offense. Hagg is not shrimp on the blue line either. He uses his size to his advantage quite well. Because of the talent that will be on this team's blue line, he'll be a second pairing at best but he's going to be a good player.
-Elliott was outstanding last night but the Wings missed numerous open nets opportunities. The Flyers left too many opening going right up the middle of the ice from the neutral zone on in.
-Konecny is a finisher. He is willing to go into the dirty places to play the game.

Not sure on the timeline, but Brian Elliott is injured. Neuvirth starting tonight, which was the plan.
