Passed through there on Monday and while they didn't boo him, it did seem some other players were more popular (e.g. Adam Duvall and Billy Hamilton).

There was a twitter video of guys in the front row telling him they remember when he was good and he said he remembered when the guy was thin. They kept going at him and he told them it's clear they are taping and he's not going to say anything to get himself in trouble.

Thought those guys were Indians fans.

Apparently Jon Singleton has been suspended from AA Corpus Christi. Haven't found any info on why.

Holy crap, watch this insane security guard flip out and take a ball from a kid because the guy who gave the kid the ball interfered with the ball in play.

(The kid ended up getting a signed Freddie Freeman ball and tickets to another game on his birthday).

The security guard was just doing his job. The kid has got to learn lessons in life, sometimes the sooner the better.

Removing the guy is one thing, but then taking the ball from kid was just stupid. And the security guard was acting like he was taking out a terrorist the way he leaped into the stands.

Yeah, the whole thing was weird. The guy wasn't even really protesting the ejection he fucked up and knew it and started up the stairs the only reason he stopped it seemed was because security took the ball from the kid. I know when I've seen it happen at cbp it's been more like some one ambles up the offender, tells them they have to go and they sheepishly walk away most times. Agree with slowhand, looks like security was taking down a terrorist.

it's pretty obvious that it's his kid. so by letting the kid keep the ball you're pretty much letting the guy keep the ball.

When one enters the stadium, he or she is entering into a social contract. For this contract to be effective one must uphold the virtues of said contract or risk falling into a natural state, one with the omission of rules. To avoid a catastrophic breakdown of the social contract we have given up certain freedoms and given others certain powers for the benefit of society as a whole. Without the erstwhile reaction of the security guard, the destruction of society was imminent by this man's actions. The child was no more than a mere pawn in his play to circumvent the rules others must follow. The security guard should receive praise, because baseball as we know it could've changed forever on that given day.

Baseball and life itself.
Teams lie, sometimes for good reasons, sometimes for bad. They do it to get an advantage while they look at the trade market or just because they can

Agreed it's pretty obviously his kid, but it's bad optics imo. We promote baseball as the American pastime and how it's all about the kids and families etc. then you see on tv a security guard taking a ball out of an ecstatic little kids hands because his dad fucked up. The impact on the game is likely minimal to nonexistent as that was gonna be a double anyway it shakes out. Dad broke the rules and shoulda been tossed or dealt with in an appropriate way, but don't punish the kid, or eject the whole family and take the ball off camera. The entire interaction just seemed overzealous to me.

Not much to debate, the security guard acted like a douchebag.

not to go all SJW here but... #whiteprivilege

If this were a Walmart and that dad was a person of color illegally taking an item for his son and was met by security with the same reaction? Would the kid get to keep the toy or would Walmart give the kid more and better toys? No and no.

The dad could've bought the kid a ball at the team store. The kid was at the point where he could've learned a valuable lesson about living within the rules of society, now he will probably be another spoiled white rich kid expecting he could get away with anything, just like his dad.

I just hope no disciplinary action is taken against the African American security guard who grew up with a different sense of values and work ethic. This is most likely a second job to help make ends meet or improve the quality of life for both he and his family.

Agree with every part of this. Bothers me though that according to the news story the guy who grabbed the ball was allowed to return to his seat. He deserved to be kicked out-I don't really care if he keeps the ball, and you certainly don't grab it out of a kid's hands. If he was the one watching the kid and so the kid had to leave since Dad got kicked out, so much the better. Let Dad explain to the kid that they have to leave because Dad broke the rules.

Sorry, didn't mean to be a little overzealous. If you do some research, the dad and mom are trump supporters from Georgia's 11th congressional district.
