The throwbacks, brown alt and camo are staying, so they now have:

-- new white home
-- new gray road
-- navy alt
-- 1992 navy/orange throwbacks on Wednesdays
-- brown/yellow on Fridays
-- camouflage on Sundays

Morosi reporting 1st-rd pick forfeits are gone. Yay guys! Heyman reporting compensation for losing a FA will be 2nd round or later.

Heyman also reporting international signings will be capped at $5M-$6M per team, and rosters will stay at 25

Nightengale says luxury tax level will be $195M, up to $210M in the 5th year

Stark:

Among the changes agreed to in the new labor deal, according to sources:
* The luxury-tax threshold will jump from $189 million to $195 million initially, then gradually increase.
* Teams that exceed the threshold will pay similar tax rates to the current deal unless they go way over the threshold, in which case their tax rate could jump to as high as 90 percent.
* Teams signing a free agent will not have to give up a draft pick unless they've exceeded the luxury-tax threshold, in which case they would lose a pick later in the draft.
* Instead of an international draft, each team will have a hard cap on total bonuses it can give to foreign-born players.
* Rosters will increase from 25 players to 26 before Sept. 1. It was not immediately clear whether the rules would change after Sept. 1.
* The labor agreement is a five-year deal, covering the 2017-2021 seasons.

No, Stark went back on that one. Looks like it's staying the same.

AP reporting the All-Star Game will no longer determine HFA in the World Series, and HFA will be determined by the pennant winner with the better record (like it should've been all along). Hallelujah the Selig nightmare is over

This is pretty huge. I imagine this will increase the number of trades of FA before they hit FA. No sense holding onto someone when there's no compensation at all.

is this effective next year??? Seems like a big win for big market teams but a huge loss for small market ones

That's what I was thinking.

Maybe the team losing a player gets a pick, but it doesn't come from the signing team? Like a pick between rounds or something?

Still going to be bummed when at the end of this 2/3rds of the league exploited the loophole to spend big money in Latin America and we never did. Hopefully going forward it levels the playing field (even though we chose to be the losers in an unlevel playing field)

Any team over the luxury tax that signs a player for at least $40M-$50M loses a 2nd and 5th while anyone under the threshold loses a 3rd. The team losing the player gets something between a 2nd and 5th depending on market size
