I only watched the third period, but they seemed clearly better to me. What percentage of the third was spent in the Flyers zone? 65? 70?

I expect Carcillo to drop the gloves about eight seconds into tomorrow night's game; Flyers and fans get all flyered up, Flyers win game 5-2.

Sigh... ESPN has an NHL mock draft up. Here's the "Flyers pick:"

Jack Campbell, G, U.S. development team

This pick comes to Anaheim via the Flyers -- and someday, the Flyers may wish they still had this pick. They could have landed a goaltender who wouldn't be considered an edible foodstuff by their fans. Anaheim doesn't have a crying need in goal -- Jonas Hiller should give the Ducks three or four more seasons of elite goaltending. But G is not an organizational strength for Anaheim; at this stage of the draft you're not looking at immediate returns and Campbell has a better chance than most of the skaters in this range to be an elite player. Destined for Windsor next season.

Flyers wouldn't have drafted a goalie in the first round anyway

Rumor in 2008 was that the Flyers traded up to 19 in order to take Pickard, but after Nashville took him, they settled on Sbisa. Pickard would be so nice to have, although I guess that would mean that they might not have gotten Pronger. That 2008 draft pissed me off so much. I wanted Pickard bad and then, at 27, I wanted them to take Carlson. Instead they got Steve fuck-ing Eminger and Washington took Carlson with the pick

As Savard skated to the penalty box after getting slashed and punched by Carcillo, Flyers captain Mike Richards threatened the Bruins' top center, according to CSNNE.com's Joe Haggerty.

"You were out for six weeks?" Richards reportedly asked Savard. "We'll put you out for another six weeks."

See, to me, that's a quote that you need to name the source.

With that said, hope it's true. I've been one of the guy's that's questioned Richards. He's been the tits as of late.

Savard claims that never happened, but he also says he didn't bite Carcillo, so who knows. Just f'ing win...

Broad Street Bullies was freakin' awesome. I HAVE to watch that with my Dad ASAP. The not-so-funny thing is how the doc helps to support the idea that the league continues to pay the Flyers back for the team's antics in the mid-70s.

Tons of tickets are still available for tonight as of right now if anyone still wants to go.

Of course they are $150+ each.

It really is ridiculous and sad all at the same time. They have nobody to blame but themselves with those laughable prices.

Meanwhile, across the street, the Phils will draw 45,000.

but the phillies play twice as many games and have twice as many seats. and if it's a matter of covering payroll with gate revenues because the television contracts stink then that's more of a league issue than a team-specific one.

Every time Boston scores a goal I seriously can not believe it, then I think there is no way they'll be able to score another.
