Flyers 09-10 Season Thread v.4.0: Boucher is Jacob

Postby z ipper » Wed Apr 21, 2010 15:59:29

both need surgery. Gagne out at least 3 weeks, Carter indefinitely.
now they just need a Pronger blood clot or something to go along with it.

Washington? I'm still a bit nervous about having to beat the Devils. Losing two Top 6 forwards in the same game. Only in Philadelphia.

Here is how I'd do the lines, personally (no hockey playing/coaching experience):

Line 1: Carcillo - Richards - Powe
Line 2: Hartnell - Briere - Leino
Line 3: Ashum - Giroux - JVR
Line 4: Laliberte - Laperrierre - Betts

I really think Giroux should be centering a line, I think him, Ashum, and JVR on the ice on the same time would be fantastic.

the asham/giroux/jvr line has been pretty constant no?

To be frank, I have hard time keeping up with lines and positions in hockey, but I could have sworn Giroux has been playing on the wing a lot and not on a line with JVR? I know Giroux and Ashum are on the same line.. anyone want to clarify?

I really thought that Giroux centering JVR and Asham has been a pretty standard line through four games (but I have to admit that I don't follow the line combos that closely since they seem to change shift-to-shift and game-to-game). I also think that it has easily been the best line in terms of creating chances.

Carter is out for 6 weeks. This isn't a big deal at all. You get Gagne back for the Conference Finals, then Carter back for the Cup Finals. It's all lining up.

Why couldn't we lose Hartnell for the year?
I would rather see you lose than win myself

Ilya Kovalchuk: This won't be my last game for Devils because we'll win

It takes a big man to guarantee a victory at home with the opposing team decimated by injuries

I thought the same time. I hope we win tomorrow night 4-0 with Kovalchuk on ice for all 4 goals.

The Star Ledger reported that Devils GM Lou Lamoriello exploded at his coaching staff after Game 4 at the Wachovia Center by hurling a jar of jam at a wall and shattering it, leaving gooey globs that had to be cleaned. Lamoriello would not discuss incident. “What happens in the locker room happens there,” he told the paper.

Oh man. The coach is quoting Vegas lines to cover up his strawberry mess, he's wondering outloud whether or not Gagne and Carter are actually injured, the star player is guaranteeing a win and the fat goalie is getting owned by Dan Carcillo. This series is epic.

But it was the correct call.

4 on 4 hockey, then a Flyers PP

Are they trying to set a record for most penalties called in a series?
