maybe, we lost6 games more than the lakers and it's not like any of those guys were on teams that won a lot of games. We'll never know.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

Picked up my tickets to the Sixers draft party last week and avoided a sales pitch on buying game tickets/plans somehow. Since getting my tickets I've received 3 emails in 5 days from some dude at the Sixers telling me I should call him to get all the details on the draft party. I mean, there's literally no way I should call that, right? That's the game ticket pressure sale that I avoided, right?

Bryan said there's a drop off after the top 8. Must have read my top 8 mock in the draft thread.

While this is true, it's not as if we have been terribly unlucky with the ping pong balls. In fact there is a case that we have been very lucky:

Season--------Record--------------------Most likely pick in that slot, odds & Player selected there----Actual pick, odds & Player selected
'13-'14 season---2nd worst record------ 4th pick (32%) Aaron Gordon----------------------------------------3rd pick (17%) Joel Embiid
If Embiid ends up being a beast this year, then I would rather have him then Jabari Parker, and overtaking Andrew Wiggins would be in reach.

'14-'15 season---3rd worst record-------5th pick (27%) Mario Hezonja----------------------------------------3rd pick (16%) Jahlil Okafor
Okafor was my least favorite pick of the Hinkie era, but in hindsight, he makes sense. Draft the best talent on the board, and the let the chips fall where they may.

'15-'16 season---1st worst record--------4th pick (35%) Marquese Chriss*------------------------------------1st pick (25%) Ben Simmons*
Simmons represents everything "The Process" was about, and could be a true game-changer, time will tell.
*Draft Express mock results

That's one way of looking at it. Another way is that we had better than a 50/50 shot at top 3 in 2014, basically 50/50 at top 3 in '15, and basically 50/50 at top 2 this year. Pretty much got the just above the expected value of our positions. Certainly could have been worse though.

Derek Bodner ‏@DerekBodnerNBA
Bryan Colangelo: "We might be the only team" that was given Ben Simmons medical information #sixers

There's five things I don't like about Bryan Colangelo:

1) Everything he says
2) He has "Angelo" in his name
3) His Dad
4) 75% of his past trades and signings
5) His face (would probably hate his neck if I could see it)

Other than that I'm partial on the guy.

Why would they do this? What if the unlikely but possible scenario where Simmons says or does something in the next two days that changes his status occurs?

Is this Colangelo trying to make news? What is the benefit to the team of telling Simmons anything and risking it becoming public? Is some journalist making it up?

the Eagles knew the instant they dealt for #2 who they were dealing for

Why wait if you've made your decision? On the incredibly small odds that Simmons in the next two days decides to completely ruin his draft stock by doing something epicly stupid? This is probably making sure the Simmons camp knows he's a Sixer so they can begin working on getting him ready to pwn as a Sixer.

but why he asked?

maybe to be able to start making plans for the welcome tour. maybe to begin speaking or look at potentials for negotiating a contract. maybe so picks 2-8 can start to shape itself and fall in line, as this affects the Sixers somewhat in potential deals.

really, this was a formality.
