I was at the game, in the end zone where Ertz caught his touchdown. Section 130 in the house.
Some perspectives:
1. The fumbles were maddening. The game could have been 31-0 at the half if Jenkins and Blount held on to the pebble.
2. Clement is way faster than any other back. Two to three gears faster than Blount or Jay. They like running stretch plays were he can cut back.
3. O line mangled the Bears dline. Blount had holes big enough for an 18 wheeler to drive through all game.
4. Kendricks is really, really fast. He made a number of plays sprinting across the field to tackle.
5. The defensive line was magnificent. They held the Bears to -4 yards at the beginning of the fourth, and added two more negative yards by the middle of the fourth. They didn't have a ton of a pressure today, but it didn't matter because Mitch Trubisky was terrible.
6. Jeffrey was wide open on the Ertz TD pass. Wentz could have thrown to either one of them with zero difficulty.
7. Ertz owned the middle of the field all day. The Bears linebackers simply didn't cover him on a number of plays. Weird.
8. Darby is really close to becoming a shut down CB.
9. Wentz's numbers would have been much better if the Birds didn't drop at least four passes (Celek/Ertz/Smith/Ajayi)
10. Only went deep once - to Nelson Muntz, who was wide open - but the wind at the far end of the stadium was crazy all day. Just died in the wind. Thought they could have gone deep a lot more if they wanted to...
11. The Bears effectively quit on offense by the start of the second half. No creativity what so ever from Fox.
12. Good times. Never have seen this level of excitement in the Birds fan base. People were expecting a blow out.
