Yeah lot of positives. Good to see Wentz and Jeffery get some chemistry today. Smith had a few chances to make big plays, hopefully he gets better.

Sheil Kapadia's weekly interview with Joe Banner has a really interesting last question this week dealing with establishing the run and running the ball. He essentially says it's a load of crap, and can be shown to be a load of crap by studying successful teams and successful drives. Lots more analysis of the pass versus run idea in Banner's answer. Kapadia is a great interviewer as well as a great writer, and worth the purchase price of "The Athletic" by himself, even if Bodner didn't write there, too.

Our pass protection may not be good enough to be pass-first either. But it's been two tough road games, I think like 110 of 120 minutes were played with a 7-point margin or less. A lot riding on next week

I think Eagles fans just have no perspective. The team that Chip left us with - was really bad. Especially on defense. You can only do so much in one-two off-seasons. They got their QB, rebuilding the D, got some WRs. Next year they will tweak Oline, add RB, Sid Jones and Darby will look good, and probably add a better LB too.

The Eagles are a good team, they play hard - but they are not an elite team - not yet. They cannot afford to make mistakes and not play really really precise against good teams with explosive weapons. KC Dline was as menacing as our own especially late. Two turnovers deep in our territory that lead to 10 points and a missed 29 yard fg, were too much to overcome, in a game that close. On the road.

Watching Wentz, I see lots of great characteristics. I have no regrets that they did what they did to get him. But he's not perfect yet either - and he still doesn't have a set of elite weapons. Give him Shady and Julio or Dez and Zeke and it's a big difference.

Encouraging:

-- Ertz, Alshon, Torrey and Mack - all showed some stuff and Ags got a TD.
-- 4 sacks
-- rookie kicker despite missing easy one, made 2 others
-- despite losing Watkins and Mcleaond, McDougle and Rasul held their own
-- Hicks is a beast

Discouraging:

-- one run over 5 yards other than Sproles or Wentz
-- over-pursued and Andy baited them using Hunt and Kelce effectively late
-- turnovers were bad luck, a bonk and an unusual on Sproles who had a good grip on the ball - but Eagles can't afford to lose TO-differential against good teams on road though
-- D got gassed late
-- ST not adding value

If we're going to lose - lose to AFC on the road

Should be able to match up better w Giants who also lack a running game and don't have Hunt

KC is legit this year...their only weak link aside from berry going down is QB and smith has played lights out the first two weeks.

What teams have been more impressive than KC to start the season? Both teams they beat are 1-1. They destroyed the Patriots in New England on opening night. I don't get what you are trying to prove saying KC isn't a top team in the league right now.

Eagles lost to an AFC SB caliber team on 10 days rest on the road by 1 score with a 2nd year QB, losing the turnover battle 2-0, a brand new rookie kicker who missed a kick, and missing 3 of their starting secondary guys for most of the game.

They hung tough against perhaps the best team in the league at their place... so it's a tough loss - but now I am rethinking games I thought they might lose vs. now thinking they might win.

This reminded me of some early McNabb-era losses where we just didn't quite have enough firepower on offense.

Yeah, not being able to run the ball at all has to have a huge impact on the passing game. If there is no threat of running the entire defense can just focus on rushing Wentz or covering their guy. That Wentz can still do what he does under those conditions is pretty awesome. Wouldn't be opposed to kicking the tires on Peterson, Forte, etc. they're probably all fried but they can't be worse than what we've got at this point.

Problem imo was defense regressing as soon as we did, and McNabb injuries mounting. But we learned you may not necessarily get better shots than we had 2002-2003 yeah.
