There is a wonderful anecdote about asparagus and Babe Ruth. In the 20’s Ruth was the lion of the New York sports world and received an invitation to dine at the home of Mrs. August Belmont. Before he went to the dinner Ruth was lectured by Yankee owner Jake Rupert to be on his best behavior as a representative of the Yankees and professional baseball. Ruth promised to be so. He was seated next to Mrs. Belmont at the table and when the butler brought in the first course, asparagus, Mrs. Belmont asked him ” Won’t you have some asparagus, Mr. Ruth?”
“No thank you, maam,” said the Bambino, “asparagus makes my urine smell!”

Three are a lot of variations of this story. Probably the least believable part of all of them is having Ruth say "urine."

people are idiots. I leave near the peak of a fairly steep hill. A loaded tractor trailer just went up going pretty slowly. It's a two-lane road. Three cars just crossed the double yellow line to pass the truck. They can't see beyond the top of the hill- if a car was coming over the hill, we'd have had a nasty head on collision with the car coming down doing at least 35 and the cars going up zooming at passing speed of probably 40.

Don't be idiots, BSGers. If you can't see the oncoming traffic don't try to pass someone.

the more i drive, the more i never want to drive ever again. some guy sped up to probably ~50 mph to pass me in a 30 mph zone this morning, all so he could get ahead of me and then sit at the stop light a half mile away. hope that 5 seconds he saved was worth darting in and out of rush hour traffic for.

academy was unharmed according to their FB update. it was the school that got hit. no one was injured by it displaces a bunch of kids next year already signed up. principal was there but made it out.
