I understand the politicization of the issue but I am beyond tired of these guys using "entitlement" as a bad word. If the government has collected 6% of my gross pay over a 40- or 45-year period, you are damn right I am entitled to get it back when I need it in retirement. Otherwise, just let me have the money now and I will save it myself.

I will say this, however; I give Christie credit for actually putting a policy position out there rather than the broad generalizations we usually hear from candidates.

I thought Christie was pushing for people making over 200k to not get social security and for social security to cap at 80k. I didn't think he was trying to scrap it completely.

raising medicare age is unnecessary and making medicaid into a state-led program will decimate it; lowering the SS 'cap' makes little sense, either. it's all window dressing from what I can tell.
