I saw The Book of Mormon last night and while it was pretty funny, maybe I just don't get musical theater. Didn't make me want to sign up for a theater series or anything.

Going tonight. I am a recovering semi-theatre-geek, so I haven't been this excited in a while. A touring production isn't the ideal way to see your first show. It might not be you in this case.

Yeah, some of it seemed rather high school. There were a few mics dropping out and a static here and there. Maybe I should catch something on Broadway sometime.

There is nothing like it, if you can get tickets cheap or are willing to pay a lot.

That said, I'm prepared for disappointment tonight. I've heard the show a million times, and it's going to be tough to hear some less-talented fat dude do a Josh Gad impression.

I saw Book of Mormon on Broadway recently, and I enjoyed it. (However, the sound quality was iffy--what ever happened to being able to sing without amplification? The result was it sounded like someone was playing a recording.) Tickets are outrageously expensive. I don't think any production is worth $250 or more per ticket. Since the show consistently sells out, I guess there are plenty of people who don't agree.
