Random Query #1077 for the secret DB

Postby Philly the Kid » Mon Jan 14, 2013 23:06:58

I haven't done a nice random poll in a while -- but I'm curious as always about the real nature of the BSG members....

What do you do?
What field are you in?

Office work?
Outside work?
Financial?
Academic?
Student?
Drive/fly?
Do we have a lot of Lawyers? Doctors? Architects?
I know there's some military of ex-military?

So let's have a poll...

and fill in your back-story and skill-set and what you're up to if you dare?

i'm an hvac tech. its cool because i dont go to the same place every day. i'd blow my brains out if i had to walk into the same office and see the same faces and sit there for 8 hours a day for years at a time

i've done design work for products/chemicals that everyone on this board has used in their lives from makeup to cell phones and cars.

IT in the health insurance industry.

Woggly, 1077 is the number of posts he made under his original, Philly-the-Kid user name on philliesphans. He then vanished for quite some time, and resurfaced as JadedNegadelphian, and again, disappeared after exactly 1077 posts.

Systems developer for a worldwide call center company. If you've called those automated 1-800-HALLMARK IVR prompt things or got an automated alert reminding you of a prescription refill or something, I program those things, provide analytics, maintain and upgrade them, etc, plus I program and administer other call center-related software and our proprietary iPad app. Travel is minimal but I've been to Ashburn, Tampa, Montana, Colorado, Silicon Valley, San Francisco and Clearwater Beach for business (plus a few local places like Allentown, Langhorne and King of Prussia)

I chose it now just for fun, because I've been accused of making so many polls, and because the #1077 became associated with "me". Below, someone recaps what I said about it in another thread.

It's rather anti-climactic.

This is essentially correct. I didn't choose the number for any reason. I locked myself out of my original account and it happened to be stuck at 1077. I suspected if I did it again, someone would notice and say something. Which exactly as I predicted -- happened. Because for whatever reason, I've been under a microscope. (I would contend from those who accuse me of being an attention grabber that a lot of it is not of my doing or intentions, I have on occasion though, once there was momentum had some fun with some of you)

and here come the usual suspects

i don't think i'm mysterious at all? how could i, i'm the most verbose person around here. attention hound? my post count is nowhere near the board leaders. I'm in relatively few threads overall. And usually, i'm just being light and having fun if I put something provocative out there.

I start relatively few threads or polls at this point, (this one not withstanding)
