Well, I would hope that my folks would not rat me out, or turn me in or whatever if I offed someone, but these kids strangled a 12 year old girl for some bike rims. To your original point jh, if they'd do that, they are probably ass holes, and that's putting it lightly.

Yeah, they're obviously awful human beings. I more meant assholes to their mother over the years to get her to the point where she's tipping off the cops about the crime.

They murdered a 12 year old girl. She would go to jail if she didnt say anything. It's the right thing. Covering for the kids isn't going to help them.

For the most part I agree with this. I am almost certain I would for my children.

This is a little different though because it's a 12 year old girl (awful) and there's zero chance you could successfully cover it up.

the mother's the asshole here? what other option did she have? i can't follow your logic at all.

her whole life is forever ruined, a young girl has been slughtered by her children. she had to turn them in. not only was it her only option, but it was the right thing to do. so instead of hiding her kids for a few days tops and making things much worse, she can only help the family of the slaughtered child.

The broader part isn't so simple though (although in this particular case, there really wasn't a choice)
