Don't know why I wrote "think" there. I know it's around 4,500.

i'm waiting until it's better. i don't like the fact it can go bad again relatively quickly, and you can't get it done again.

Pretty bad. I don't remember the exact measure though. I can play sports without my glasses, but wouldn't be able to do anything else really. So yeah, pretty bad.

don't feel bad, most don't

Mine didn't either, but I accumulated enough in my flexible spending account over a few years and didn't pay a cent. Also almost went blind in one eye. So.

How expensive is it roughly? I get $1200 a year for eye/dental, was thinking about getting it done in the fall. Blind part has me skeptical.

Mine was just around 5 grand.

Long story short- They didn't give me enough anesthesia in my left eye, so I started feeling the apparatus holding my eye open and tried to blink which caused the thing to scratch the hell out of my eye. The whole thing happens so fast (in the blink of an eye?) that there was literally nothing I could do.

I woke up the next day unable to open my eye because it was so scratched up and my eyelid was therefore irritated. Had to live life with Sloth-eye for a month before it healed and they did PRK on that eye.

So in closing, make sure they give you enough local anesthesia. Mine may have been a special case because it took longer to set up the machine due to my deeply set eyes. I have no regrets and would do it again.

Also, do not take Percocet without eating.

I feel comfortable in saying my eyesight is worse than Pratt's. I can't even play sports or jog without my glasses.

I still do wear my glasses during sports though, with the exception of tackle football. I could play without them, yet I just keep them on. Only broke them once playing sports, and they were already kinda broken to begin with.

I've only broken mine playing sports once, but that also resulted in me losing half of one of my front teeth and splitting my lip. I would not be able to function at all without glasses. I doubt I could see someone throwing me a football from over 20 yards away without my glasses.

imagine thinking you have a piece of sand in your eye in the same spot for a month. it was pretty much like that, but more painful each day. and not really knowing if it was going to get better.

I could play b-ball without them (the b standing for basket) but I just never do. Probably play better with them. Yes, I can read 12 inches away, but I'm very nearsighted.

my sister is the same way. when she learned about this, she tried to get my parents to buy her a monocle.

you should just get contacts then, if you can function like that without glasses, you won't get the benefit someone like me or SK would get

Have a hard time touching my eye. Tried them once or twice and it felt too weird in my eye. Guess I never gave them a fair shot though.
