indeed. 60 hours a week ain't sheet.
my dad told me when i was little, "if they're paying, i'm staying."
good philosophy.
don't be afraid to actually work to be successful.

you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

One day I should figure out how many hours I work. But then the issue would be figuring out what counts as working. I mean, if I watch some c-span, that's work. Reading the news is work. Thinking about my research or what I'm going to do in class tomorrow is work. I spend a lot of time doing that stuff. But really, most of my work is fun. If I only counted the unfun stuff--meetings ,grading papers, filling out forms, updating blackboard, and maybe stressing, I'd probably average about 15 hours of work a week.

If I was offered two jobs with those parameters obviously I would take the one that offers more money, I'm just not sure I'd be happier which is my point. Maybe I'll enjoy working more when I'm in a career I actually want though.

Yeah, you'll barely do any work then.

Six months ago I left a big ad agency where I would go weeks without too much work, come in at 11, watch movies and go home. It was a blast but the work sucked. I could have gone to another big agency and probably doubled my salary but instead I took a minuscule raise and followed my former boss to a small place that he was taking over. I basically work 24/7 but it's so much better. My girlfriend is pretty upset with me right now that our Florida/Spring Training trip got screwed up, but I think she'll forgive me if I buy her crap from Anthropologie.

McGraw you should open a restaurant. That's my advice. Practically no work whatsoever and you can bang all the teen waitresses

to clarify i want no part of a small business. but my family runs a small business that is exactly what you said is impossible now a days. 8-9 hour work days and no weekends. It's established and as long as the economy doesn't recrash its going to stay around until we sell to a corporation. he work is mind numbing though.
