Incredible to think someone might have an opinion different than yours, or that of the Economist. Amazing really.

Obama really sucks at picking preachers.

Yeah, that's pretty vile. Very disappointing.

There are some good preachers out there that aren't lunatics and are not complete religious Nazi's.

He needs to find himself one.

I'll go ahead and say it--our own Rev. Beezer would be great.

So long as you put him on a delay, sure. Though, like I think most Americans, I do enjoy clergymen who cuss like sailors.

He's a panderer who lacks any real spiritual content--it's religion designed to make people feel good about themselves.

Judiasm and Catholicism are both heavy on the guilt. Puritans were convinced if you were having a good time, it was likely you doing something bad.

A Pastor from our area(and this is no joke) named Pastor God was speaking at my church once and somehow got onto the topic of sitcoms. He started talking about the show Friends and went off on how watching that was a one way ticket to hell. He referenced the lesbians in it and all.

He freaked everyone out. Even our own Pastor Walters was a little freaked I think, though Pastor Walters is one of the coolest guys I've ever met.

No lie--in a Reformed Church (probably the most Calvinist of the Calvinist Sects) Youth group thing, we were told that The Force of Star Wars was bad news. I don't think we were forbidden from watching it or anything that drastic, but we were told in no uncertain terms that it was unChristian.

So I've decided Rachel Maddow is the best talking head out there. There's really no close second. Anderson 'silverfox' Cooper? That's about it. Olbermann and O'Reilly are hilarious in their own ways, but that's it. The rest of them can take a long walk off a short pier. Especially Hannity.

I kind of like Brit Hume. He is funny cause he gets injected with elephant tranqs before he goes on the air. I truthfully don't mind him.

He is quitting the business of being a political talking head though.

I'm as zero-tolerance for homophobes, even kinder gentler homophobes like Warren, as they are for gays. Are there more offensive people running around out there? Sure. But I don't want them at the inauguration either.

Probably it could be argued that any religious figure well known to the public, other than maybe the Dalai Lama Himself, is going to offend someone. The answer would be to invite a no-name, if you have to have someone do that.

If Ray LaHood at Transportation and the short term retention of Gates at Defense are the extent of Obama's great bipartisan cabinet efforts, this will be highlighted by the media, yes?

I would pay monies if Beez would end the inaugural invocation, not with the standard "Amen", but by holding up a Phillies cap and yelling "WFC!".

It's a fucking joke. (The outrage, not the closures.)
