Most college teams don't play zone anymore, so Syracuse's 2-3 frustrates some decent teams, just like Holy Cross's 1-3-1 did in the Patriot League tourney and in the out bracket. It's really interesting to watch coaches try to attack zones these days--they don't overload, they don't feed the high post, they don't try to get behind the zone in the short corners and pass low to high, they just pass around the outside, skip pass, and drive and kick looking for 3's. Very hard to beat a disciplined, non-trapping zone that way.
