This has been a really shit season for UNLV but they just won a tournament game in Triple OT with 6 scholarship players, 3 of which fouled out leaving 2 walk ons playing the OTs. Gritty.
Tomorrow they get waxed by Fresno.

Yep. Regular season basically is just jockeying for position to play 3 games in 3 days and see what happens. Regular season champ gets a pat on the back, but if you get hot for 72 hours in March, you get to dance.

Too much publicity and championship week!!! For it to ever change but it really does suck for the small conference. People bitch and moan about the best schools in the field getting in and some getting left out. Do away with the tournaments and you won't have bubble bursting issues.

If the regular-season and conference tournament champs are different, they should play another game for the auto bid. Make it double elimination for the regular-season champ without removing conference tourney excitement.
