Maybe you could find a dog that barks Katy Perry songs.

Don't think Vic plans on anything.

I feel like a lot of posters have always assumed that Victorino is gone before or when he hits free agency, but isn't he the type of guy the Phillies usually keep around, probably at a sizable cost? Seems like just being a long-time Phillies is enough for Ruben, but he's also our best hitter right now according to some metrics

Maybe, but they're also entering deeper payroll territory than ever before. Hamels is going to cost a lot (and hopefully they re-sign him). If mayberry has a good season, I could see them sliding him over to CF, and we can only hope that dom brown finally makes the leap to play LF.

Logic says Pence or Victorino would be gone but somehow I can't really picture that. Maybe if Mayberry proves he's for real they let Pence walk.

One way they'll save a little is if Ruiz walks after next year. And Utley's deal ending after next year will be interesting. Might have to just go for cheap defense at 3B, and of course cross your fingers on Brown and Mayberry.

Too bad you can't backload deals, relative to the luxury tax. But I'm sure they'll cook something up

If he plays 150+ games this year, I'd personally rather extend Victorino than Pentz, if I could choose only one and dollars were similar

That doesn't mean I'm super high on Vic though. I'm not really crazy about giving either a 4+ year deal

Hope we get in on Bossman next offseason

Ten years ago, between bouts of eeyore like despair, around this time of year, I'd believe that if the Phillies got hot at the right time and caught a few breaks, they could win the wild card or maybe even the NL East. Now, I believe that if they get hot at the right time and catch a few breaks they can win 110-120 games.

Anyone have any comparable pictures of Ryan Howard in shorts from previous seasons? I'm sick of googling images of Ryan Howard because two pictures keep showing up no matter what search terms I put in.
