Jamey Carroll supposedly has a deal done with a "mystery team" and the Phils are speculated as in the running with a group of 4 others.

a middle infielder with a .362 OBP over his last 1684 PAs is pretty awesome. My guess is that Valdez is gone.

Q: Did that conversation with Sandberg leave you to believing that if you don’t retain Jimmy, maybe Freddy could do it?

A: Oh, I think there are a lot of people that think he can do it. Is it risky? Absolutely -- for a team like this that is expected to be in the playoffs and expected to go to the World Series. No question, it’s a huge risk. But that’s OK. We’re not afraid to take risks. We’ve done it before. Right now it is just a matter of how things develop with Jimmy and how things may develop if Jimmy is not part of our club, how they may develop with some other free agents who we have had discussions with, and weighing that with whether or not we want to take the risk of having a young kid come in and be our everyday shortstop.

“A mystery team”: Inevitably, at some point this offseason—probably during the Winter Meetings—someone will report that some free agent is being sought by some very specific list of teams “and a mystery team.” There are a variety of going theories on the mystery team’s identity. Some say it’s entirely fictional, an invention of the player’s agent to try to drive up the player’s price tag. Others argue it is a built-in safety valve for reporters who want to write with conviction but can never be sure of all the teams pursuing a free agent. Still others claim it’s the Washington Nationals. Which is it? No one knows. That’s why it’s a mystery, brother.
