The irony is that no team was more convinced that Lee would chase every last nickel than the Phillies -- who traded him because of this.

Think I can convince the Phils to sign me as the 5th starter. It'll be a feel good story of a local man who cannot throw 90 feet. Also, it'll give the bullpen and offense a chance to earn their money.

The whole thing is astounding. Did Amaro really think he would be able to obtain 3 aces in a year??

The man turned down 50+ mil because he loved it here so much, based off of 17 games started as a Phillies. And we traded him away. This is a dream.

You've had the feeling since the World Series, that Cliff just really hated the Yankees.
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

You'd have to take a discount to play for us though.

how do we keep topping this year after year? next year, we're gonna resurrect babe ruth in his prime, and sign him away from the yankees too.

I just went on Ebay hoping to snag a leftover Cliff Lee Phillies jersey from his first stint...

There were 56 of them and the cheapest one was $79.99.

I can't catch a break! I was hoping someone had a new one hanging around for the last year and was trying to sell it still for like $10...
