Is game 7 (if necessary of course) on Friday or is that not announced yet?

Really, Bud, this is crap. You owe us at least this much: an opportunity to start Hamels on five days rest. Dickhead.

That has to be the worst TV night of the year (Halloween).

he owes us nothing. he fucked up, but he'll never admit to that, so in his mind they did everything the best they could. he also doesn't want to prolong this series longer than it has to go.

but none of that matters now. what matters is that the Phils are at home with 12 outs, the top of the lineup and the best bullpen in baseball, and the Rays are on the road with 9 outs, the bottom of the lineup, and a bullpen without an ace.

this is the Phils' best chance to win this series. they control their own destiny, and it's time to take advantage.

Steve Phillips already said on ESPN that Monday was a win for the Rays. So I guess that makes sense now.

I'm hearing game 5.2 is all set as the halftime entertainment during the Lions game on Thanksgiving day

I totally agree. I also hate Bud Selig. The two are not mutually exclusive.

from all the articles I've read, that's what they are saying but officially, I guess not. I mean I haven't read anything from the commissioners office saying that

I can positively confirm, officially, that Friday is indeed Halloween.

Game 6 on Friday and Game 7 on Saturday would be the worst TV option.

There won't be one, but if there is a Game 7, I think Hamels would be available to start - that's 3 days rest from Monday. So there's that.

If anyone was watching CSN's post game show on Monday, what did Hamels say in reference to Mitch that had Barkan all upset? Mitch didn't make a big deal, but I wasn't paying attention to what Hamels was saying.

Hamels deflected talk of starting on three days rest as usual, saying yes, he'd be willing but that he has all the faith in the world in his teammates. Barkann was just upset that he wasn't all like "MADDON, RAYS...GAME 7...I'M COMING FOR YOU RAAAARRRGGHHHHHHH"

I'm going to presume MLB and Selig as their proxy only care about Fox being happy and maximizing revenue via Fox. On a common sense level, it would make sense -- if it were needed to make a Game 6 and 7 on Sat and Sun., the weekend, when most people do not work. True, there is football college and pros, but that's the point, sports fans are watching games drinking beer like the Fox sponsors want. Friday is a holiday for kids and families and unlikely to get much interest outside of the two cities playing and a few die-hard sports fans. As well, there needs to be a travel day, which would at least be Thurs.

To play on wed night and then jet down to TB to play on Thurs night - is assinine.

To rob the PHils and sports history of an opportunity to have their ace, who got jobbed by MLB on Mon, a chance to be fully rested and able to go in a final game should it come to that, is really penalizing the Phils.

I just hope they take care of business tonight and then we can all spit on Selig for eternity....
