Thank you for the very attractive board. Few, if any, will recognize me.

I used to post on the Phillies.com board prior to the Renegade site existed. Then I was very happy with Dave's site until the end of 2003 when things began getting off topic. That is when I left. Filtering through all the political stuff to find Phillies talk was frustrating to me.

Since then, I used to check in from time to time, but never did follow the flow for very long. I did register as Official Scorer at some point and even made a few posts. The site deteriorated, imo.

I was intrigued by the e-mails last week and all the drama. When I heard the site might go private, I thought I might like to return. But the demand of money and the seemingly off-the-cuff reaction to things turned me off.

I have been browsing all the other boards since and see there is still an active community. I relish sliding back into the fold again. I gladly sent in a donation just now. It's not the money, just the approach.

Because I have been out of the loop, as it were, for so long, while I recognize many of the handles, I do not know the politics of who is who. And I prefer it that way.

Just as an introduction, I like scoring games and am working on the particulars of a project for the upcoming season to collate a scorecard from each Phillies game. I hope many of you will participate.

Thanks for the board and I look forward to Phillies discussion.

The one thing I know is, with the creation of this board and PhilliesBoard, I think we may have seen the end of PhilliesPhans.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dave "calls it a night".

I think, that's be a very good idea. One merged board would have a better chance of sticking, than 2 or 3 smaller boards.

Only speculating based on what I have read many times on philliesphans:

why would Dave care if he has 500 regular posters or 10? His stated objective is not to be THE place for Phillies baseball, but only for a certain kind of discussion that he and the moderators define themselves. That philliesphans actually became the primary center for Phillies baseball talk would seem to have been a fluke based on a lack of alternatives. Now there are more alternatives, and consequently there will be far fewer posters on philliesphans. That should not effect Dave's desire to continue the board.
