If you get the bundle with the phone and the dock it's $500 total, $700 combined if you buy the dock after the fact.
Still a $#@!-ton of money
EDIT: and now I see what you mean about the tethering
$500, or even $300 for what is essentially a small LCD monitor and keyboard is rigoddamndiculous.

I made a check deposit at one of the new wachovia ATMs today. I slid my card in, entered my PIN, selected "deposit", and simply put the two checks in (together). The ATM read the checks and asked me to confirm the amount each them (it got them both correct). Boom. Done. I even elected to print a receipt with the check images. Pretty cool.
