Do you know what onlyfans is?
Napalm wrote:Somebody made a mention in one of the threads about "That ball is outta here" because a Harry Kalas-ism, perhaps too out of touch with the younger gen. If you were just a kid during the WS, and most Phils fans were recruited during that era, then you heard it, you know it, and you were taught it, and that's the kind of old-school memory that keeps us insider-y enough. If that phrase is out of touch, well, I don't need any 14 year old posting on here anyway.

I do now, but I still don’t understand why it would be a good name for the new site

CFP wrote:That one is okay, but there is the Fansided blog called That Ball's Outta Here. Feel like it's been done before.

phanz.com
It’s simple, available and gets the job done.

Vox kind of coins it in his farewell post so it's an homage in a way, it keeps the same spirit of an announcer catchphrase named site and well, it's just a better, more iconic announcer near and dear to our hearts.

Kind of looks like "ball" is spelled with three ls (I realize one is an I).
Is "thatballsouttahere.com" available?

It’s a reference to a subscription porn site called OnlyFans where you subscribe to the content creators themselves rather than the site. Someone had suggested OnlyPhans, which picked up steam but several people mentioned that it would probably get blocked by their work filters and may attract the wrong kind of clientele to our wholesome family-friendly messageboard. PhansOnly was a compromise that still let us have the joke without any of the accompanying issues (while spelling “fans” with a “ph” identifies it as a Philly board).

Doesn’t seem like a good idea to go with a name that could get flagged by work filters, I know a few people had issues with BSG and their work filters, feel like it’s a bad idea to even flirt with that potential for others to get blocked out
