I thought they had 8 episodes completed?

If the strike ended in the next month, would we get 8 more or would they wait till next year and drag the entire show out another year? Are the actors signed for whenever or once they did the 3 year plan are the actors free no matter?

To me spoilers are things the producers don't want you to know. Matthew Fox talks about the show in this week's Entertainment Weekly. I'll spoiler it just in case anyone has an issue:

Fox discussed the line, "you get my father down here..." with Lindelof. Lindelof said that when a close relative dies that in a stressful moment people talk them being alive. Jack is losing track of time at that moment.

Those that got off the island are covering something up about the island to the world at large.

Jack Shepherd will go back to the island.

Jack gets people off the island, but not everyone. They become well known because it's a massive story how these people are alive.

This season deals with time travel and supernatural elements.

Jeremy Dvies, Ken Leung, Jeff Fahey, and Rebecca Mader join the cast as people from the freighter.

I'm concerned about the story going "off-island".

I've been rewatching a variety of episodes, including the last few to end last season and I have to say that one thnig that confuses me, is why the Others bothered with the survivors at all? And when they say things like "we're the good guys", how can they justify that when they have been deceitful, murderous, stealing children -- people barely survive a plane crash and they don't embrace them or tell them anything real -- they clearly seem to know everything about the Island, where all the stations are, how to get around, and there's all this cloak and dagger. Why did Ben help kill off the entire Dharma colony? If the "original inhabitants" were there all along and had the ability to knock of Dharma why did they wait so long? How did Dharma pull off buildling all the stations then and initiating all their research? I'm curious as to whether or not ANYONE has been born on-Island? And if Richard found young Ben as a boy in the jungle, why is Ben the de-facto leader? Ben is one twisted dude and even if he is partially telling the truth -- shooting Locke, and constantly lying and manipulating he has only himself to blame.

I also wonder if we're going to find out why the outside world thinks the entire plane of people are dead and what this plane is that they supposedly found at the bottom of the ocean?

A lot of Others are dead now too... the woman Sun shot, Ethan, Goodwin, 10 people from the raid including beard, Patch-eye, the two women in the looking-glass -- Juliette is now a survivor so it seems...

Should be an interesting next phase of the show... I just hope we get more than 8 episodes and another super long layoff of questions... :(

On Wednesday ABC has two hours 9 pm to 11 pm of "special enhanced episode with on screen facts and back story. Jack and his fellow castaways begin their efforts to make contact with Naomi's rescue ship."

They list Thursday at 8 pm as being the two hour premiere. Wednesday may be last year's finale with additional info.

I heard reports that the 8 o'clock hour is recap. Keep hearing about the 2 hours season premiere. Entertainment Weekly lists the show as ending at 10:02pm. So do we really only get 9-10:02 with new material and the rehashed old stuff in the 8 o'clock hour?

TV Guide says it's the two-hour finale from last year with some added on-screen information running Wednesday night from 9-11pm. It better be, because I just sent back the sixth DVD of season three without watching the finale.
