yes. it was preemptive as I assumed that there would be other. Sarah did not disappoint with her list which included everyone you would suspect (critics), and someone who is a current DOJ employee (not sure who he is).

Just reported that Dan Coates learned of this through the news cycle.

Has anything like this, from this level that is, ever happened before? Publicly as a rebuke and admonishment I am suggesting, not because of actual wrong doing.

Good job of someone noting that this is an attention shift. A seismographic event like this delivered to the news rotate the cycle from Russia, Manafort, Omarosa, etc. Trump is a master of that. Is the cost worth it?

I assume it happened for actual reasons that are well established, but I am doubting that it has ever happened at t press conference. I think this happens behind closed doors, and hardly ever from the chief executive as his will.

I remember when docsmooth would criticize me for posting links with little commentary. Now we have to literally read minds to understand what's being commented on within this thread.

Don’t let this Brennan smokescreen distract. Push the pedal down except to point out that this is inappropriate use of position. The idiots left a date on the statement, it was July 26. It was just being held until a distraction was needed. They need a warehouse of these to deflect.

An FCC Inspector General (IG) investigation found that the FCC lied to members of Congress multiple times in letters that answered questions about DDoS attacks that never happened. Pai's FCC claimed for more than a year that a May 2017 outage in the public comments system was caused by multiple DDoS attack In reality, the FCC system crashed because it was unable to handle an influx of comments

Naturalized Americans could lose their citizenship with thousands of cases under review
The Department of Homeland Security (under which USCIS operates) also plans to devote more than $207.6 million in a separate initiative involving the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). ICE will use the funds to hire new agents for the National Security Investigations division to look for possible citizenship and green card fraud, according to ICE’s budget plan for 2019.

Hoppock was referring to cases such as that of Norma Borgoño, a 63-year-old Peruvian woman who has lived in Miami for 28 years.

Borgoño was sentenced in 2012 to one year of house arrest and four years of probation for her involvement in a $24 million fraud a decade ago. As secretary of an export and import company called Texon Inc., she prepared documents for her boss, who pocketed money from loans fraudulently received from the U.S. Export-Import Bank. Borgoño did not profit from the fraud and cooperated with the authorities in the investigation.Borgoño, who has a rare kidney disease, served her sentence and paid the restitution of $5,000 little by little. But this year, a week after the birth of her granddaughter, she received a letter from the federal government warning her that it is seeking to revoke her citizenship and deport her to Peru.

The government alleges that she naturalized after the fraudulent operation began. Although she had not been charged when she petitioned for citizenship, the Justice Department now argues that Borgoño lied by not disclosing her illegal activities in the application.

Its a same different story of what I posted a week or two ago about the woman serving in the military who has been kicked out, and might be deported because the education visa she was granted was from a corrupt government official. She got the visa, and joined the military to 'earn her citizenship' when she accidentally discovered that she is not (her parents brought her here as child, but because she did not know she missed the a DACA opportunity).

Park Service considers charging fees for protests around National Mall

The fees would cover such things as trash pickup, barricades, event management and repairing turf damage. It's among changes being considered to better balance free speech while ensuring that "iconic viewsheds are left unobstructed," said a park service official

Where as I can see that cleanup costs are a problem, I am not too fond of the idea of free speech coming with a price tag. I also think that "iconic viewsheds" is a sham, but it is also something simple that nitwits can jump on.

Me: You told me you found [George's tweets] disrespectful.

Kellyanne: It is disrespectful, it's a violation of basic decency, certainly, if not marital vows . . . as "a person familiar with their relationship."

Me: No, we're on the record here. You can't say after the fact "as someone familiar."

Kellyanne: I told you everything about his tweets was off the record.

Me: No, that's not true. That never happened.

WaPo article, republished by Philly.com, about the Conways. It is all pretty interesting, and I think it might be all an act (also suggested in the piece as a common thought), but the idea that someone wants to be a background source for a story on themselves with pretty crazy.
