There have been four mosques burned down in the last seven weeks - three of which have been concluded as arson. There has also been reports of other vandalism and destruction in that time frame.

I'm sure there will eventually (if not already) a study comparing the spree of race-related attacks/threats/destruction compared to other points in time. It feels like there is more going on now, but it may only be because there is a spotlight on the issue since the POTUS has espoused xenophobia and racist bullshit.

Yea, that was the article I saw tweeted today. I originally had an excerpt in my post about how we haven't heard about that when we've heard so much abou the JCC and cemetery vandalism, but it sounded too harsh/victim blamingy. We should have the mental capacity to hear about, and have compassion towards, both issues. Giving media and us the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the arson determinations for the 3 of 4 were recent, and it would have been "reckless" to claim arson/motive without knowing.

So the FBI has a suspect - Juan Thompson - in several of the bomb threats, including the Jewish Defamation League. His Twitter is something else. He has posted several times over the past week how it's an ex of his ("nasty racist white woman" as he says) who wants him to be raped in jail, and that she also threatened the life of President Trump. He has tweets from the same time frame denouncing the threats.

Apparently he was arrested.. the FBI complaint says that the cyber harassment was from him to her - including claiming she had child porn. The FBI says he is not the prime suspect, but a copycat.
