I don't know if there would be a more insane "We're going for it" move than this one

I'd enjoy watching fugees try to spin that a rotation of johan, ollie, maine, randy wolf, and pelfrey was at least as good
I know what you're asking yourself and the answer is yes. I have a nick name for my penis. Its called the Octagon, but I also nick named my testes - my left one is James Westfall and my right one is Doctor Kenneth Noisewater.

John Finger, CSNPhilly:
Whispers from Phillies sources is the deal for Halladay could include Cole Hamels.

Who the hell is John Finger, might I ask?

"The" deal for Halladay could include Cole Hamels? I could see "A possible deal for Halladay could include..." but not THE deal. That makes it sound like there's already something in place. Surely, if there was, John fucking Finger would not be the first to write about it. This guy seems like an idiot.

Well, he does seem to have his Finger on the pulse of the Phils management.

If we were allowed a window to negotiate an extension, maybe that would raise the price (in prospects) to a point where it's actually likely to happen.

Including Hamels would mean the price in prospects is low and it would also make it more affordable dollars wise. Hamels is scheduled to make 6.65 mill next year. I could see something like Hamels, Taylor and Carpenter for Halladay. A rotation of Hallday, Lee, Blanton,Happ and Kendrick for 2010 is very good.

Yes but Halladay/Lee/Hamels/Blanton/Happ is practically transcendental

And for the love of god don't talk about Kendrick being on my baseball team
you sure do seem to have a lot of time on your hands to be on this forum? Do you have a job? Are you a shut-in?

The only way I can see Hamels going the other way is if we get an opportunity to sign Halladay to an extension and even then I'm not sure its plausible.

Why?

Say they extend Lee, obviously they would plan on Lee and Hamels being the core of their rotation long-term. Hamels makes $9.5M in 2011, and if he pitches well in 2010 and 2011, he'll make $13M to $15M a year moving forward in 2012 on. If they would plan to keep both him and Lee long-term, why is it a stretch to think they could subtract Hamels and add Halladay in his place?

You are probably only talking about a couple million a year difference from 2012 on.

I don't think you'd need to give up Taylor. As bad as Hamels' 2009 was, who else would be able to give up anyone with his 2008 pedigree and his upside? I think you'd also see them move Blanton in a year or so, which would free up more money. Plus you throw in some of Middleton's cigar money - sign Lee and Halliday for 5 years - done.

I can't see the Phillies paying 2 pitchers in their 30's 15-20 million a year each. It would also require a deal of 4 years or longer and they just don't do it. Sign me up, but I do not see it happening.

Don't sign me up. If they want Halladay bite the bullet and give them their choice of Brown/Taylor along with Happ. Not Hamels, even if he was a vag this season
