Depends on how the starters pitch this season. They were the strength of the team for majority of last season, and of course I don’t expect them to be that this season, but if the bullpen is much improved then starters going deeper than 5 or 6 innings is going to be less of an issue. Baseball is shifting more toward pulling the starters before they pitch their 3rd go around the order and then just manage the pen the rest of the way. If your bullpen is thin, that strategy will burn your relievers by August, but if you have a deep bullpen you can manage it. So let’s hope some other relievers give us something besides the staples this season and I think this team could approach 93 or so.

Based on nothing but I think it's going to be #34 unless he wants to make another fan service gesture and/or already has another number in mind. They haven't retired Roy's number yet, it's not a slam dunk that they will, and I think that even if you want to retire Roy's number, you can do it while Harper is wearing it and it will be just as cool that the last guy to wear it will be the biggest free agent signing in team history.

I want him to take 7 from Maik and then someday both 34 and 7 can be retired.
