There won't be a football season without a vaccine. Team sports won't resume until sometime next year when the aforementioned vaccine is widely available.

Nah, MLB is already talking about playing in empty spring facilities, I think team sports will return before a vaccine. Testing will have to be more available but it will happen imo.

We shall see. Football is the least feasible and baseball the most. With the latter, players are, by-and-large, socially distanced on the field of play. With football you have a couple of hundred players and coaches engaged in every contest. What happens when one of them tests positive?

There is entirely too much money in football -- especially college, as it supports world-class research universities -- for them to cancel unless every single option is exhausted. There are millions of jobs that rely on sports, directly or indirectly.

Moreover, by the fall, people will need some fucking escapes. Most importantly, nobody knows shit right now.

Seems like they should be able to find a workaround to play golf sooner than this? Smaller field, one at a time, let them use carts.
Two days later I get a text back that says I'm a basketball player and a businessman, not a Thundercat.

I am not sure it make sense to try anything before June at this point without knowing what is going to happen over the next month.

I wonder how much money they make from TV versus fans going to the events.

Agreed but there's a lot of time between June and August.

Yeah I that's probably why the majors want to push it back. Maybe you see some other events start to get peppered in this summer.

The plan is for them to come back starting in June with the Memorial and no fans.
