I mean it isn't far fetched for them to make some roster moves like Simmonds and some other things if they end up getting swept. They need to do something about defense and goaltending and the young guys just aren't going to cut it at this point for next season.
Hextall needs to do something at some point, I get the patience with the young guys but you also can't piss away the last of Giroux's good years because your team can't play defense or find an NHL level goalie.

3,478 on a 7 goal loss!
10: Positive: 7-0 defeat no different than 2-1 loss in the playoffs
A thrashing on this level can be called nothing other than embarrassing, especially considering the high-profile nature of both the Flyers-Penguins rivalry and this particular series. The general consensus prior to puck drop was that Pittsburgh would likely move on to Round 2 in the end, but Philadelphia would put up a strong fight and make it one of the more entertaining series of the overall slate. Instead, the Flyers barely looked worthy of being on the same ice as the two-time defending champs.
The good news for the Flyers coming out of this game is this: teams don't get style points in the playoffs for how they win. Pittsburgh isn't up seven to nothing in the series — they hold a mere 1-0 edge that could vanish if Philadelphia comes out with a strong effort on Friday. I think back to the Montreal Canadiens' upset of the Washington Capitals in 2010, which has gone down in history as a series that Jaroslav Halak “stole” from one of the best regular-season teams of the 00s. That's not an incorrect way to remember the shocking outcome. However, what has been forgotten by most is that Halak was somewhere between underwhelming and horrid in Montreal's first two losses, stopping just 82% of the Capitals' shots and even being benched for Game 4. But Halak's dizzying highs in the series matched his trench-like lows, and on the strength of the former, the Canadiens pulled a historic upset. This devastating loss becomes a distant memory if the Flyers can rebound tomorrow night with an effort that is as impressive as Wednesday night was humiliating.
