i'd guess it's more that they're an average team, didn't upgrade at the deadline and are playing good teams now. or it could be jonesy.

And a coach that makes terrible adjustments.

They play enough bad teams down the stretch that they should be able to make it to the playoffs barring a huge collapse. Don't think they can beat Washington or Pittsburgh in a series though.

FWIW, I think you could reasonably lay one of the four goals last night at Mrazek's feet; Sheary's first goal. The other three non-EN goals were a PP goal, a goal off MacDonald's leg (with four guys literally right in this face) and the goal set up by the deflection off Manning's skate that went directly to Sheary's stick. The Flyers were not great by any means last night but the Pens had their share of breaks. Too many turnovers, too many failed clearing attempts and, as fucking usual, too much over-passing.

This is a game in, game out problem. No one is suggesting that the players just pepper the nets with wild shots that have no chance of success but you don't score if you don't shoot. A goal is worth one score no matter how it goes into the nets. There are no extra style values given.

Jake scores on a PP but Patrick with the main assist. He is going to be a real good one.
